We had a great experience overall. The Grilled Shrimp, Octopus & Garlic Sausage with Cannellini Beans & Citrus Bagna Cauda was excellent—well balanced, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the meal. The yellow snapper (fresh catch) was also very well prepared. The Crab Cake with Sweet Corn Guacamole & Charred Jalapeño Aioli was average compared to the other dishes. The key lime pie was a solid 4.5/5 and a nice way to end dinner. The service was great, attentive and professional. A good Key West spot, especially if you focus on the seafood and fresh catch.
Louie’s backyard is a hidden gem & has been thriving for 20 plus years, which speaks for itself. The serene views and atmosphere intertwined with the in house perfected food !! A great time with great eats. As a Floridian always going down to key west, we will always visit Louie’s backyard for great eats & beautiful views.
If you're looking for an upscale dinner atmosphere while in Key West, this is a great option. Absolutely gorgeous sunset views over the Atlantic, some of the best service we had any restaurant. Wish I remember her name, but she was quick and attentive. The food was expensive, but honestly everything was expensive, so for the quality of the food, atmosphere, and service I felt like we got what we payed for. There's an additional bar a level down from the dining area right on the water. I wish we would have made it over there at some other point during the week for drinks, and we left far too full to get any after dinner. We visited the keys the last week of September and the island was noticeably not crowded but I could see reservations here being a must during the busy season.
We went without reservations and the host downstairs recommended we try the Cafe upstairs. We sat outside on the balcony with an incredible sunset view and very private table. Our waitress was fantastic and had a great attitude and enthusiasm about the food and chef. We tried all her recommendations and none of them fell short. The drinks were amazing as well. We will for sure be back!
Head to the patio for a drink at sunset. Then go upstairs and see Blondie and Octaivia. The views upstairs are amazing. The menu is amazing and food comes from the second floor kitcken of this historic waterfront mansion.
We had a really excellent dinner here as a family tonight. We booked the 5pm dinner seating and were sat at a lovely corner inside table with a beautiful view of the water and sunset. Sasha was a kind and attentive server. We really enjoyed the lobster starter and then the Mahi special, swordfish and salmon entrees. All had an excellent sear and were very flavorful. The swordfish was probably our favorite though we loved all of them. Of course, key lime pie for dessert, which was also super. Overall, a really enjoyable and memorable dinner for our first visit to Key West. So happy to have found Louis's and would highly recommend!

Whether you're looking for a romantic evening or a refined meal with friends, this spot delivers on every front. The setting is simply stunning — think gentle sea breezes, the sound of waves lapping nearby, and sunsets that paint the sky in unforgettable hues. The menu is thoughtfully curated, but the standout for me was the lobster chowder starter — rich, velvety, and absolutely to die for. Service is warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance strikes a perfect balance between upscale and relaxed island charm. It is very nice to find a pet-friendly restaurant next to dog beach. The bar tender was very nice to offer water to my pup. The food was pretty good and we enjoyed our lunch.
